Fregate island made a donation of fruits, vegetables and basic food items to the Red Cross Society of Seychelles and Mr. Clifford Mondon of the Feed a Child initiative. An initiative with the aim of assisting children whose families have been affected by COVID. In a short ceremony at the office of Fregate Island today, the island representative pointed out that this is not last donation; they will continue to provide more such items. Whereas Mr. Mondon of the Feed a Child thanked all those helping in this initiative. For her part, the RCSS’ Secretary General spoke of the need for people to be better prepared for any eventuality. To date, some two hundred and thirty (230) families have been assisted by the National Society, since the pandemic started last year. For the month of May, the National Society has assisted twenty five (25) families. The total cost of assistance provided so far amounts to about two hundred and fifty thousand Seychelles Rupees (SR250).
