RCSS launched its new Strategic Plan 2023-2027

The Red Cross Society of Seychelles, RCSS,  now has a new Strategic Plan for the next five years. The new Strategic Plan 2023 – 2027 was launched this morning at the National Theatre, Mont Fleuri, in the presence of RCSS partners, including the Head of IFRC Cluster, Ms Maria Martinez. In his opening remarks, the RCSS President, Kisnan Tamatave highlighted the importance of working alongside partners to achieve better results. There were different presentations on the auxiliary role of the Red Cross Movement, the International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent, IFRC, and an overview of the RCSS Strategic Plans.

The new Strategic Plan has five Strategic Objectives;
1. Structural Consolidation & re-organisation
2. Building Strength through Partnerships
3. Working with the community
4. Recruiting new volunteers & re-energising existing ones
5. Creating Financial Stability

Partners present congratulated the RCSS for the launch of its Strategic Plan. The mandate of the RCSS has more or less remained the same;

  • to contribute to the improvement of health & social welfare, the prevention of disease, the alleviation of human suffering & promotion of respect for human beings
  • to organise emergency relief services for victims of disasters
  • to disseminate & implement the ideals & Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement as set out in the preamble of the Statute of the Movement.

After the presentations, the partners were presented to each with a copy of the new Strategic Plan.
