RCSS receives donations to commemorate the International Day of Peace

Amongst the activities planned this year, the International Day of Peace Committee (Peace Committee) donated some items to the Red Cross Society of Seychelles. Mrs. Rose-Mary Elizabeth, a member of the Committee presented the donations on behalf of the Committee. The CEO of CEPS, Mr. Alvin Lawrence also said a few words on behalf of the Peace Committee to reiterate the need for collective action especially in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Terence Madeleine, Treasure of the Peace Committee presented a cheque received from Mr. Idney Basset to Red Cross. Mr. Madeleine took the opportunity to thank the members of the public for their generous donations including the people at the STC Hypermarket on Saturday 18th September where members of the Peace Committee were stationed from 9am to 2pm. Money collected at Hypermarket will be transferred to the Red Cross Disaster Victims Account. Mr. Japhet Dailoo also made a personal donation to Red Cross to assist with the cause. To conclude the short ceremony, Mr. Wilven Alcindor, another member of the Peace Committee delivered a reflection to show gratitude for the donations received and to bless the Red Cross team who are working tirelessly to help the less fortunate people in the society.
