Solei Company Ltd Donates to Madagascar Appeal through Red Cross Society of Seychelles

Solei Company Ltd makes a generous donation of milk powder products to the Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) in support of the ongoing Madagascar appeal.

The donation, valued at Eighty-Six Thousand Seychelles Rupees (SCR 86,000), was presented during a brief ceremony held at the Solei Board Room, located on Bois De Rose Avenue, Victoria on Tuesday 25th March 2025.

The contribution consisted of two pallets, containing a total of two hundred and four (204) cartons of milk powder, each packet weighing 900g. Of these, one hundred and sixty-nine (169) cartons were full cream milk powder, while thirty-seven (37) were premium full cream milk powder – products of which the company has newly launched on the market. The donation is expected to provide essential nourishment to those affected by the current situation in Madagascar.

Representing Solei Company Ltd, Mr. George Toussaint, the company’s Director, personally handed over the donation to Ms. Marie-May Esparon, the Secretary General of the RCSS. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. John Toussaint, the company’s CEO, as well as staff members of Solei Company Ltd.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Nelta Dick, spokesperson for Solei, expressed the company’s pride in contributing to this cause. She emphasized that the timing was especially fitting, as it coincides with a season of charity, offering an opportunity to demonstrate solidarity with the most vulnerable. She extended her thanks to the RCSS for facilitating the donation’s collection and expressed hope that future opportunities would arise for similar acts of kindness.

Mr. George Toussaint also expressed his company’s pleasure in supporting the Madagascar appeal, emphasizing that it was an honor for Solei Company Ltd to contribute to the relief efforts.

In response, Ms. Esparon conveyed her deep appreciation for the donation, highlighting the importance of the products in comparison to previous contributions. She assured that the products would be distributed efficiently, thanks to ongoing discussions with the Secretary General of the Malagasy Red Cross. Ms. Esparon also noted that the donation was a meaningful gesture and a testament to the kindness and thoughtfulness of the Solei team.

Looking ahead, Ms. Esparon expressed confidence that this collaboration would not end with this donation. She suggested that Solei Company Ltd could benefit from training opportunities offered by the RCSS, such as First Aid and Psychosocial Support courses. In line with this, she proposed the possibility of formalizing future collaborations through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a move she is actively pursuing with other partners.

The event marked another successful step in the continued solidarity between Seychelles and Madagascar, with both the RCSS and Solei Company hopeful for further cooperation in the future.
