Standby for the Landfill Fire

The RCSS is currently on standby alongside relevant partners namely the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency (SFRSA), the Ministry of Health (MOH), and the Landscape and Waste Management Agency (LWMA) as a result of the ongoing fire on the Landfill which started in the evening of Monday 7th October. A group of 15 RCSS volunteers and staff have been assisting since this morning with the provision of supplies, including tents, chairs, ice boxes and ice, ambulance service, camp beds, and first aid kits. As the fire fighters continue to work tirelessly to put the fire under control, volunteers deployed will continue to support firefighters on site while the RCSS Command Center, based at the RCSS Headquarters, remains operational until the situation improves, and the fire is put under control.
