The Red Cross Society of Seychelles to conduct visit on La Digue Island

In light of the ongoing Project being funded by the Japanese Red Cross, which is aimed towards Volunteer Recruitment, the Red Cross Society of the Seychelles will be on La Digue from Wednesday 25th of September – Friday 27th of September. The aim of the visit would be to conduct a recruitment drive, revamp the volunteer committee, and clean the RCSS office to allow the RCSS to better serve those in need and to get access to perform volunteer work on the island when needed.

The trip will help contribute to the promotion of the RCSS, its services and products, programs and various volunteer opportunities to the community on La Digue. By raising awareness of the Red Cross Movement and the work that is carried out by the RCSS, this will help to foster greater understanding and creating good associations between the RCSS headquarter and the community on La Digue.

Moreover, the RCSS staff would be conducting a meeting with volunteers – both existing and those wishing to join to provide an opportunity for the RCSS and volunteers to talk about reaching the objectives, improving teamwork, discussing any difficulties they may have encountered, and deciding on the best course of action. Additionally, with carrying out volunteer recruitment on the island, the RCSS would be able to gain access to prior performances of existing volunteers, which would help assist the RCSS in better coordinating their efforts and fostering a sense of togetherness among volunteers.

In addition, there would be discussions about achieving the objectives and improving cooperation with both new and returning volunteers on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. The Red Cross Society of Seychelles, the ongoing Japanese Project, and other projects and donors would also be given more exposure and awareness.

All eight (8) RCSS staff will be going on the trip.
