Red Cross Volunteers Support Elections Nationwide. The Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) has mobilized its volunteers across the country to provide support during the ongoing presidential and parliamentary elections.
Early this morning, RCSS volunteers were stationed at all 26 polling stations nationwide. They arrived at around 6:00 a.m.—one hour before voting officially began—to ensure readiness in providing first aid assistance and humanitarian support to voters, polling officials, and members of the public.
By 10:30 a.m., reports confirmed that operations were running smoothly across all locations. No major incidents or casualties were recorded, though volunteers remained on alert to respond promptly should the need arise.
The deployment of Red Cross volunteers is part of the Society’s long-standing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the public during major national events. Their presence reinforces preparedness and contributes to a safe and orderly election process.
The RCSS thanked its dedicated volunteers for their service and professionalism, underscoring that their contribution plays an important role in safeguarding communities and supporting national efforts during this important democratic exercise.
