The Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) is currently strengthening its pool of first aid instructors through a Training of Trainers (ToT) in First Aid, bringing together RCSS staff and volunteers, representatives from the Seychelles Defence Forces, and the Ministry of Local Government and Inner Islands.
The training is taking place at the SDF Training Academy, Persevrance.
The five-day training started on Monday 17th August 2026 and will conclude on Friday 21st August 2026. The training is being facilitated by two experienced trainers from the Plateforme d’Intervention Régionale de l’Océan Indien (PIROI).
The ToT aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and teaching techniques required to become qualified First Aid Instructors, enabling them to subsequently deliver quality first aid training to staff, volunteers, schools, communities and other groups across Seychelles.
Throughout the training, participants are undertaking a combination of theoretical and practical sessions, with emphasis on both first aid competencies and effective training methodologies. This approach will help ensure that future RCSS instructors are able to confidently transfer their knowledge and skills to others.
At the completion of the training, participants who successfully meet the requirements will be presented with certificates recognising their participation and achievement.
The training forms part of RCSS’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its capacity to provide quality first aid training and promote first aid knowledge and preparedness within communities.
By expanding its pool of trained instructors, RCSS aims to reach more people across Seychelles with essential first aid knowledge and skills, contributing to safer and more resilient communities.
