The Red Cross Society of Seychelles is present at Stad Linite for the 45th Inter-School Athletics Championships. The Red Cross is providing ambulance services and first aid. As in previous years, the Red Cross works in collaboration with the Ministry of Health for this event.
This year, 56 volunteers are participating in the activity, alongside 7 staff members of the National Society and 6 officers from the Ministry of Health.
Karine Ernesta, Health Coordinator of the Red Cross Society of Seychelles, explained that preparations on the logistics and first aid side had been made well in advance. However, challenges remain in terms of volunteer numbers. “What I am pleased about,” she added, “is that we have many young people from our school-based clubs taking part.”
