RCSS Volunteers Provide First Aid at Seychelles Nature Trail

The Disaster Law Workshop was launched to support the implementation and review of national regulatory frameworks on disaster risk management in the Indian Ocean Island States. This project is funded by the UNDRR and implemented by the Italian Red Cross and the Red Cross Society of Seychelles, in collaboration with the DRMD.

In his remarks, the Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Agriculture emphasised the importance of collaboration in data collection and sharing for the benefit of both the country and the wider region.

The workshop will consist mainly of group work focusing on several areas, including mapping strengths and areas for improvement, exploring the Disaster Risk Management Framework, and introducing a tailor-made tool to assess the DRM legal framework on disaster data and information management, among others.

This workshop follows a preliminary scoping mission conducted by the Italian Red Cross earlier this year.
