
Friday 5th September 2025 – Perseverance, Seychelles –Over 50 volunteers and staff of the Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) will take part in a one-day refresher training on Saturday, 6th September 2025, at the Les Mamelles Community Centre. The training, which starts at 8:30 a.m., forms part of RCSS’s preparedness efforts for the upcoming general elections scheduled for 27th September.
The session will cover a review of RCSS’s internal procedures, an overview of election procedures, coordination with key partners, and security and safe access protocols amongst others. In addition, volunteers and staff will undergo a first aid refresher focusing on potential incidents that may arise on election day.
Volunteers based on Praslin and La Digue will also undergo the same refresher training on Saturday, 13th September 2025, at the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Training Room, Eve Island, Baie Ste Anne.
A total of eighty-two (82) staff and volunteers will be deployed at all polling stations in the country on the main polling day.
The Red Cross Society of Seychelles plays a vital role in providing humanitarian assistance during national events, including medical first aid support and emergency response. This refresher training ensures that volunteers and staff are fully equipped to respond effectively, safely, and impartially.
The elections are an important moment for the country, and the RCSS remains committed to ensuring that our volunteers and staff are prepared to provide neutral and reliable humanitarian support when called upon, The RCSS will continue to work closely with national authorities and partners to ensure a coordinated and effective response during the electoral period.
