Members of the Seychelles Defence Forces, SDF, joined the Red Cross Society of Seychelles, RCSS, yesterday morning to sort out clothes for the Malagasy people affected by the cyclones. This was an initiative of the SDF, and thought it would be a great idea to also use this opportunity to bring some assistance to Madagascar as it will be involved in a regional mission next month. The RCSS recently launched an for Madagascar and was accepting only cash donations. The SDF’s Chaplain, Deacon Jack Agathine noted the close collaboration with the NS and the need for Seychelles to see contribute more towards the affected population. President Wavel Ramkalawan is the Commander in Chief of SDF. The people of Seychelles is being encouraged to contribute non perishable food items, as well as water. The NS will be opened on the last two Saturdays of this month to collect the contributions. Special arrangements have also been made for those on Praslin and La Digue islands, wishing to donate.
