The Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) will be hosting an information session for partners, staff, and volunteers in view of the grant received earlier this year from the Seychelles Conservation and Climate Adaptation Trust Fund (SeyCCAT) to lead the development of Early Action Protocols (EAP) for Seychelles.
Mr. Benjamin Vel, the project manager for the RCSS SEYCCAT Project will be facilitating the session, which is set for Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Roche Caiman District Administration.
With the goal to encourage discussion and inform invited parties with an update about the project, the workshop aims to highlight some of the most important issues surrounding Anticipatory Action (AA), identifying important characteristics of early warning systems and EAP that call for careful consideration of its policies and programs, and put together these issues within a framework.
Moreover, discussions will also center around the potentially vulnerable communities in Seychelles by involving participants in exchanges in identifying such communities, addressing factors that determine/govern the success of the levels of preparedness, anticipatory action and early warnings and early action protocols for these communities.
