Constance Lemuria Generosity Challenge Raises SCR 35,000 for the Red Cross Society of Seychelles

A 12-hour cycling challenge at Constance Lemuria has raised SCR 35,000 to support the humanitarian work of the Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS) on Praslin.

The fifth Constance Generosity Challenge took place on 23 September 2026, bringing together a little over 400 riders, including staff and workers of Constance Lemuria, who took turns on a static bicycle throughout the 12-hour challenge.

The initiative combined physical endurance with generosity, as participants came together to raise funds for a cause that directly supports the local community.

From volunteer initiative to community support.

This year’s decision to support the Red Cross Society of Seychelles was inspired by Mrs Mariana Cornet, an active RCSS volunteer on Praslin. Her initiative led to the RCSS being selected as the beneficiary of this year’s Generosity Challenge.

Following the successful completion of the challenge, the General Manager of Constance Lemuria presented a cheque for SCR 35,000 to RCSS Secretary General, Marie-May Esparon, during a short ceremony held shortly after the event.

The donation, equivalent to approximately USD 2,600, will contribute towards the restocking and revamping of the RCSS Praslin Office, helping the National Society maintain essential supplies and improve the working environment for its staff and volunteers.

The strengthened office will also support the RCSS in continuing to provide humanitarian services and assistance to communities on Praslin.

A partnership that makes a difference

The RCSS expresses its sincere appreciation to Constance Lemuria, its management and staff, the more than 400 riders, and Mrs Mariana Cornet for their generosity, initiative and commitment to supporting humanitarian action.

The Generosity Challenge demonstrates how partnerships with the private sector, combined with the commitment of volunteers and community members, can translate into meaningful support for people and communities in need.

The RCSS is grateful to Constance Lemuria for helping turn generosity into action on Praslin.
